This fantastically bingeable new drama series on Netflix, set in the Cold War era, explores the life of chess prodigy Beth Harmon- from an orphan, through her battles with addiction, and to her pathway to becoming the greatest chess player in the world. This empowering and dramatic saga is well worth a watch.


The Romantics and us with Simon Schama- BBC iplayer

This three-part documentary explores the lives of various romantics and how they've altered the course of history with their words, art and passion. The series not only looks at romantic works through the lens of the romantic era but also in a modern context. This is the perfect way of discovering what romanticism is- which is widely misunderstood.



Grounded with Louis Theroux podcast- BBC sounds/podcast app

Curated in the heart of lockdown this fascinating podcast entails raw conversations 1 on 1 with a cross-section of high profile people, including Helena Bonham Carter and KSI.

This podcast is well worth a listen to get a deeper insight into such peoples lives with the added bonus of Louis Theroux the accomplished documentary maker.
