In this rather narcissistic account here I share with you some of my current favourite songs that fuel my summer playlists and what I love about them. DISCLAIMER this is coming from someone with no musical talent just a love of music.
Robbery- Lime Cordiale
This song is a perfectly catchy blend of eclectic instruments and an uplifting beat perfect for blaring on drives to the beach this summer.
I always knew- the vaccines
A classic beautifully happy song that bleeds happiness will have you roaring it at the top of your lungs on a warm summer evening with a drink in hand.
As The World Caves In - Matt Maltese (Cover by Sarah Cothran)- only on YouTube
This may be one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard her voice matches perfectly to the crushing lyrics and leaves me in tears every time.
Kilby girl- backseat lovers
To me this song is nothing short of euphoric and reminds me of late nights dancing blissfully with friends on the beach.
It won’t always be like this- inhalers
With a lively message of hope this intoxicating song is extremely catchy and will put a smile on your face.
7- Catfish and the Bottlemen
Recommended to me by a friend this song is the epitome of a carefree summer song perfect for blasting alongside friends whilst singing vehemently.
Waiting room- Phoebe Bridgers
Bridger's raw and honest voice blend perfectly with this song that builds in an unexplainably heartbreaking yet equally uplifting way.
Good old-fashioned lover boy- Queen
This all time classic features everything you could want in a song and is simply put: a masterpiece.
Like real people do- Hozier
This lyrical perfection is poetic and beautifully soft and surreal Hozier never fails to provide.
Easy Easy- King Krule
With gritty unmistakably British vocals this song is an ‘easy’ and carefree listen for long summer days.
