2021: A year of change

Following the recent scarily dystopian events at the US capitol, where Trump supporters rioted and terrorised DC in an attempt to overturn Trumps defeat in the recent presidential election, Trump has been impeached as of Wednesday 13 January on charges of Abuse of power, obstruction of congress and incitement of insurrection.

Being the first President to ever be impeached twice, and making up for half of the impeachments in history of US, this impeachment now moves to the senate where a supermajority of 2/3 is needed to impeach Trump.

This is a highly significant event as, if successful, Trump is held accountable for the attack on the US capitol and disqualified from ever running for office again.

In British news, following 1st Jan 2021 things are now set to change on our shores with Brexit now ending the free movement of goods and services between the EU and the UK.

Significant impacts are to be made on people's lives, travel and work.

Already there have been changes set to be made, one of which being the reintroduction of Neonicotinoids as pesticides in the uk. Banned by the EU due to being poisonous; this highlights the divergence in policy between the EU and UK we are soon to see.
